Hermès "Decoupages" 90cm Silk Twill Scarf by Anne Rosat, 1997. "Decoupages", which in French is the process of decorating objects with lacquered paper, is an ancient tradition dating back to the 12th Century throughout Europe. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was originally issued in 1997 and designed by world famous decoupage artist, Anne Rosat. The design of the "découpages" scarf was inspired by the Swiss alpine scenes with edelweiss, chalets and hotels. Scarf is in excellent vintage condition with and plump hand rolled edges.
