Hermès "Cheval Turc" 90cm Cream Silk Scarf by Christiane Vauzelles, 1969.
Hermès "Cheval Turc" 90cm Cream Silk Scarf by Christiane Vauzelles, 1969. "Cheval Turc", or French for "Turkish Horse", was originally designed by Christiane Vauzelles and issued in 1969. The design of the "Cheval Turc" depicts an equestrian center with a beautiful horse led by its trainer and adorned in Turkish riding garb that nods to Hermès equestrian roots. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was made by famous Hermès designer Christiane Vauzelles who created other designs such as "Les Muserolles" and "Les Pivoines". Unlike other Hermès designers, Vauzelles is famously known for not signing her designs. Scarf is in good vintage condition with and plump hand rolled edges and few markings to brown silk ground.
