Hermès Black & Purple Early America Silk Square Scarf by Françoise De La Perrier

$495.00

Hermès Black & Purple Early America Silk Square Scarf by Françoise De La Perrier, circa 2000. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was made by equestrian artist, Françoise De La Perrier, who was responsible for many iconic designs such as "Etriers" and "Les Coups". Originally issued in 1970, the design of the "Early American" scarf was inspired by colonial drawings in the early American art style with Perrier's iconic equestrian style scene throughout the design. The original issue of "Early American" was absent of the George & Martha Washington centerpiece, making this scarf a re-issue from the early 2000's with the addition of the notable figures of American history. Perrier's rich and prominent impact on the Hermès brand makes his works amongst the most collectible next to other famous artists like Kermit Oliver. In good vintage condition with and plump hand rolled edges and little to no signs of use. Full condition report and specifications listed below:
