Hermès "Grand Manège" Twill Silk Scarf by Henri d'Origny, circa 1993. "Grand Manège", or french for "Big Merry-Go-Round", was designed by Henri d'Origny and was originally issued in 1990. The design of the "Grand Manège" was inspired by the Cadre Noir National De Samur Riding School in Samur, France which has been a French equestrian staple since the early 1970's. The elaborate riding costumes worn by performers in the Grand Manège inspired this design seen in the rosettes, bits and stirrups in a pattern mimicked by the horses movement within the stadium. Beautiful vibrant color way in Hermès orange with red and gold accent colors. Excellent condition with hand rolled edges. Comes with Hermès box.
