Hermès "Art des Steppes Detail" 90cm Silk Twill Scarf by Annie Faivre, 2001. "Art des Steppes Detail" was originally designed in 1991 and was re-issued only once in 2001. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was made by famous contemporary equestrian Hermès artist, Annie Faivre who was responsible for many iconic designs such as "Circus" and "Les Legends de L'arbre". Originally issued in 1991, the design of the "Art des Steppes" was inspired by the vast open land or "Steppe" in Europe and Asia as well as the colorful tent patterns used in the sheltering of nomads and their horses.
