Hermès "Bolduc" Silk Twill Scarf by Jean-Louis Dumas, circa 1998. "Bolduc", or French for "curling ribbon" depicts the classic Hermès ribbon in a cross hatched pattern knotted and tied into a realistic bow. Handcrafted in France to the highest luxury standards, Hermès scarves are true wearable pieces of art that take 18 months to create from start to finish with over 750 artisan hours into each scarf design. This extremely popular and highly sought after design was made by chairman of Hermès and artistic director, Jean-Louis Dumas who was responsible for many iconic designs such as "Amazones" and "Pele Mele". Originally issued in 1983, the design of the "Bolduc" was inspired by the iconic ribbon that has been used by Hermès for over fifty years. Scarf is in great vintage condition with and plump hand rolled edges.
