T.C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. Majolica Game Pie Tureen, the base molded as a yellow-glazed woven basket with applied branch handles terminating with oak leaves and acorns, the mound-form cover with ferns and leaves, surmounted by a single grouse chick forming the finial, the interior glazed in turquoise, the reverse with impressed marks: 'T.C. BROWN-WESTHEAD, MOORE & CO,' and the design number, '1223,' with painted design number '1223' repeated on the undersides of both the cover and tureen.

This is ONE of TWO known examples of this rare form.

The other was sold at Christie's London, November 1, 1999, Sale number 8559, lot number 36.

For thirty years we have been among the preeminent specialists in fine antique majolica.
