George Jones Majolica 'Strawberry Tray' with cream and sugar wells, English, British Registry mark to reverse for 29 April 1873, and black painted pattern number '3221P' which corresponds to 'Strawberry Tray, Pink Centre' in the George Jones Majolica pattern books in the Wedgwood Archive (reprinted in V. Beregesen). The colors couldn't be more vibrant, the center is a pool of pink glaze, and the molding is crisp and beautiful, a perfect example of this model and the best of English Majolica, it has no damage, repairs, or restoration. There are three kiln marks to the reverse (see photos), but this is not damage and is only mentioned in order to provide complete transparency. For over 28 years we have been among the nation's preeminent specialists in antique Majolica.
