T. C. Brown-Westhead Moore & Co. Majolica Butterfly Pitcher, on cobalt blue-glazed simulated wooden staves and brown basketweave, with faux bamboo handles, the interior glazed in lavender, the reverse with British Registry Mark for 19 September 1873, with original pewter lid. In the recently published three-volume MAJOLICA MANIA, Laura Microulis, says of the majolica produced by this firm: "Indeed, T. C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. majolica was considered to be of the highest quality and was sold at premium prices through its large showrooms in London, Paris, Hamburg, as well as through a resident agent in New York."
