Pair Mahogany Letter Boxes from an English Country House, ca. 1860
A pair of mahogany post boxes from an English Country House, each with molded, recessed panels to three sides, the center door with original brass knobs and escutcheon plates and a beveled glass, the tops with raised molding to the letter slot; key is present, English, ca. 1860.
With a beautifully patinated mahogany surface, these are exceptionally rare antiques; in fact, in our 30 years of importing containers from England, we have never seen a pair come on the market.
May be hung on the wall or set free-standing on a console or hall table.
